Why DanceWise?

Many people ask how and why we chose the name DanceWise?

The idea actually came to us while walking in a park in London. We wanted a memorable name for our business together, something that was succinct, not too pompous, something that reflected our values, professional and approachable, reassuring people that they have made the right choice, indicating the years of knowledge and dance experience we have, ... and then we saw it!

In front of us were little instructional signs showing the types of trees and wildlife in the park. We stopped by a sign about Owls - and then we started thinking "...as wise as an owl.." and it was obvious that Dance-Wise would work, and it's also a bit of a pun on likewise or counterclockwise or stepwise... wise always adds something special to the word before it.

To be wise means to possess and apply good judgment, drawing on knowledge, experience, and insight to make sound decisions and understand the truth or rightness of things. Key aspects of wisdom include the ability to integrate knowledge with experience, recognizing perspectives, and acting with prudence and compassion, rather than being solely driven by intellect or emotion. Wise is not flashy or boastful, but it's how we try to operate each and every day.

The next logical step was selecting our logo. Because an owl was the original inspiration, our owl, Owliver, in his dapper bow-tie, has become a big part of DanceWise as well.
