Frequently Asked Questions
We have the answers for you
General
- 01No partner? No problem! You can still dance with us because our instructors are here to partner with you. In group classes and social dance nights, people often rotate partners too, which makes learning more fun and helps your dancing grow. We’ll make sure you always have someone to dance with!
- 02That’s exactly why we’re here! We’ve worked with all kinds of dancers, from total beginners to people with lots of experience, and we tailor lessons to your pace and comfort level. If group classes feel like too much at first, private lessons let you learn step by step. You really can do this!
- 03Ballroom dance shoes are not essential, but it’s a good idea to avoid sandals or crocs that could slip off while dancing. We have a DanceVision sprung wooden floor, so please avoid sharp stilettos or shoes with nails on the bottom! However, a good pair of dance shoes does make it all much easier, and we have options available here at the studio!
- 04Wear whatever feels comfortable and lets you move freely! We don’t have a dress code, so you can come as you are and focus on having fun. For social dances, tea dances, and themed parties, you’re welcome to dress up if you want to add a little sparkle!
- 05Lesson and event pricing is listed on our calendar, and group lessons and social dance events are usually $15 per person. New students can ask about our introductory private lesson special for $59 with owners Julianne, Paul, or any of our teachers. Private lessons are also available by the hour or in discounted packages—and we never pressure you into buying more than you want!
- 06We happily accept cash, check, and credit cards! Credit card transactions may incur a 4% fee.
- 07We're happy to teach through all stages of life! Currently we offer private lessons where students learn the ballroom and Latin rhythm dances, with opportunities to compete and perform in showcases. Contact us for more information!
- 08We teach a wide range of dances, including American Smooth, International Standard, and International Latin, plus favorites like West Coast Swing, Bachata, Salsa, and country dances. Whether you want social dancing, showcases, or competition training, we’ll help you find the style that fits you best!
- 09Absolutely! We love helping you feel confident and relaxed on your big day. You can choose your own song, keep the dance simple, or let us build a custom routine that feels a little more wow! We also choreograph father-daughter and mother-son dances. Check out the Weddings page or reach out to us for details!
- 10Yes! We love helping you shine on the floor. You can train for both in-studio and on-stage showcases, and we also support students who want to compete. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate your progress and share your dancing with friends and family!
- 11That depends on your goals, but many students start with one lesson a week and build from there. If you’re preparing for a wedding, showcase, or just want to improve more quickly, we can help you choose a pace that fits your schedule and keeps dancing fun!
- 12Your first lesson is all about making you feel comfortable and excited to dance! We’ll chat about your goals, introduce a few basics, and help you get moving at a pace that feels great for you. No pressure, no stress—just a fun first step onto the floor!
- 13Private lessons are one-on-one sessions focused on you! We tailor the instruction to your goals, whether you want social dancing, wedding choreography, or technique help. You’ll get personal feedback, steady progress, and a pace that fits your schedule and comfort level.
- 14Not at all! We love working with brand-new dancers. You do not need any experience to start, and we’ll help you learn one step at a time in a friendly, encouraging environment.
- 15Many of our events are all about community, and we love welcoming dancers and guests to join the fun! Event details can vary, so the best move is to check the event page or give us a call so we can point you in the right direction.
