Why did you start dancing?
"For me, Dance is the language of the heart! I've always been a lover of dance and started Irish Step Dancing at 3 years old and danced into my mid-teens.
Later in life, my late husband Robert and I took Tango lessons in Sedona followed by a memorable month dancing Tango in Argentina. After I lost my husband to a terminal illness I was grief-stricken and kept asking myself, what can I do to bring myself joy, and of course dance was the answer. It was my greatest therapy and dance brings me joy! As a bonus, I have made many great friends dancing!
I believe dance nourishes the body, mind and soul!"
What's your favorite dance?
"I love all dance, but if I had to pare it down to one it would be the 'Waltz' because of its Elegance and Grace!"
What's your favorite memory at Dancewise?
"I have had many fun and memorable times at DanceWise which include showcases, special events, afternoon teas, Saturday nights dancing, but my favorite memory is my first night at DanceWise.
Julianne and Paul made me feel so welcome I knew that this was going to be my 'home studio.' I love how it feels like family at DanceWise!"
Do you have any advice for other dancers?
"Move your soul! Never miss a chance to dance! I think it's importance to master the fundamentals and don't skip the basics! Focus on consistent training/lessons and embrace the challenges! Invest in yourself and work with a great dance instructor! Maintain a positive attitude! Most importantly find your unique style, enjoy it and have fun."
